U.S. Navy Days
I joined the Navy in December, 1964 and went to boot camp in San Diego, CA
After completing 3 months of boot camp, I went to machinest's mate A school for 3 months  at
Great Lakes Naval Station in Illinois.
From there I was assigned to the USS Mississinewa, AO-144.  This was a 143 class oiler, the
biggest and newest oiler the Navy had at the time.  Back then the 143 class oiler was called a super
tanker.  She was home ported in Newport, RI in the states and Naples, Italy in the med. sea.
I reported to her in July, 1965 and stayed on her until my seperation in February, 1969.
